Formatting date field value

Im wanting to auto populate a date field in a sublist field when changing a date field in the main record.  Setting the field to be updated as a calculated field based on the parent date field.

 

When updating the parent date field, the value is returning as:

 

"Sat Oct 31 2015 00:00:00 GMT+1300 (New Zealand Daylight Time)"

 

Which is causing an error when trying to save the record.  Id like to be able to format the calculated value to conform with the expected formatted value, eg. 31/10/2015.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Try to modify calculated expression on sublist as follow

    Code:

    [[= [[<DateField>]] ? [[<DateField>]].format("dd/MM/yyyy") : "" ]]

     

     

    where <DateField>  is a name of date field from parent list.
