  Yes this is possible.
  You must create calculated expression. Please,
  1) Go to Ribbon, Behaviour tab
  2) Open calculated expression modal dialog
  3) Instead of "Template" choose "Function code" in select
  4) Insert code snippet (   replace [[TextField]] using your text field name)
  Code:

  [[TextField]];
  return new Date();
  

   

  
  5) Press Save , Save form

  I have only just realised the expression works but is setting it as U.S. format not U.K. which the site is set for.
  Does the expression need the format set or is it an app setting?
