This article provides the general overview of the architecture and structure of skybow Solution Studio, describes installation steps, necessary and additional permissions for the user, package and publish features.
General architecture of skybow Solution Studio.
The skybow Solution Studio is a hybrid-SaaS platform. Some components are hosted on skybow Azure resources, which are located in the region “West Europe” and the actual solution is running directly in the customer’s SharePoint. Therefore all customer data is stored in their own tenant and will not leave this place!
The following architecture should visualize more detailed what is stored on which environment.
Installation
To use skybow Solution Studio you have sign up and register for a Solution Studio account and follow the steps described here: skybow Solution Studio: Installation
Optional permissions
Additional permissions may be required for specific functions or action types to get them to work. Which ones they are and where they are used is described in article skybow Solution Studio: Optional permissions.
Packaging
skybow Solution Studio gives you the possibility to make different packages/versions of the solution. It’s used to follow an established application lifecycle management, where you separate the development from testing and production sites. Deployment options
Package & Publish is a SharePoint provisioning feature provided by skybow Solution Studio that allows you to bring your custom SharePoint solution from development to production or deliver it to your customers with ease. With this feature you can package lists and libraries, customizations, etc. and deploy it to any target site regardless if they are in the same or different environment. Generally there are four different possibilities to install a SharePoint solution created with the skybow Solution Studio on a SharePoint site.
