To select the current user as a default value in a people picker field you can use the Initial Field Value in skybow rich forms and solution studio online and add [[@User.LoginName]] via the expression language or simply double-click on LoginName in the expression builder -> Context -> User as shown in figure 2.
So when opening the new form the current users name is prepopulated in the form.
